It's that time of the year!! Armchair BEA is back!! Over the course of this week, you will see daily posts on this blog for Armchair BEA. There will be discussions, giveaways, and more! Don't forget to stop back for all the fun.
Today's topic for discussion, Introductions! I'm going to be sharing some fun facts about me and the blog!
Hi guys!! *waves*
This is my second year attending BEA! I really had a blast last year, and had fun chatting and visiting new2me blogs.
My real name is Lisa, but in the blogging world I'm Silverlight or Silverlight00 (a name that was given to me from a video game junkie friend)
I'm a married (14years) SAHM, I have 4 kiddo's to wrangle on a daily basis.
I live in New England USA in the smallest state in the union-Rhode Island. Being the smallest state, we don't have many bookish events, but were not far from Boston(about an hour or so away).
Of course my biggest passion is reading, blogging, and chatting with friends on the net.
I've been blogging since Jan, 2012 -although this blog officially was started on Dec 28, 2011
My first fan girl moment was in Jan, 2012, when one of my favorite authors -Diana Pharaoh Francis, commented through twitter about my review, for Crimson Wind. She called it lovely, and twittered it out to her fans! I freaked out and cried happy tears! That review earned me a place in her new book Blood Winter, where I freaked out even more, when I saw my quote in the book!!!Some things you may not know about me- I LOVE to dance, cook, hike, fish, garden, the beach, and love to go bargain hunting-Yard sales, thrift stores, used bookstores, and more.
Before book blogging, I was a coupon junkie and was a moderator for a popular New England web site.
My reading tastes have changed over the past year, yes I still love to read paranormal, urban fantasy, and fantasy books, but last year around Oct. I started reading more and more contemporary romance, new adult, and erotica! Surprising myself by enjoying these genres, because I was not a fan of them at all! Now, I read them more than pnr/uf/fan. reads.
Before book blogging, you could find me on Shelfari, where I started chatting and making friends with awesome people. I really loved Shelfari over Goodreads, at the time. Shelfari was not intimidating and has a close community. Unfortunately, since blogging I don't have time to chat with my friends from Shelfari, as much, and I do miss them!! Now, I'm more active on Goodreads, because the data base is easier to use for bloggers, and almost all information from book covers, to synopsis comes from Goodreads, to share on my blog.
Of course being a blogger introduced me to not only great books, authors, pubs, but the # 1 thing that I love is the actual bloggers. I love visiting blogs, I only wish I had more time to do it! My love for blogs can be found HERE.
My favorite blogs that I try to visit on a daily basis are:
The Bookish Babe - A great honest blogger who shares her love for Romance, Indie books, and all things in between. She has opened my eyes to so many great books!
Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer - A little bit of everything, Kimba reviews books on a daily basis, she also comes up with many different ideas, challenges, etc. She also is the host of The Sunday Post, a great way to share what you featured on your blog, what books you received, and future post, for your blog. A great leader Kim has a great daily following.
My Parahangover -My bf in the blogging world! One of the first bloggers that I chatted with and became friends with. She's a great springboard to my ideas. Life is busy for her, right now, but someday soon, she'll be back full force! *Smooches*
Xpresso Reads -One of the first blogs I followed, Giselle is a rock star and has expanded her blog to become a blog designer and book tour coordinator. She is responsible for my blog redesign, and I love her reviews!
Maryse's Book Blog -LOVE her informative blog, her reviews are usually fan girling about contemp. romance, new adult, and erotica. Even though she started as a paranormal romance/UF fan, she has made the switch, and has introduced me to so many great books!
Lastly, I want to thank you for visiting and to all my readers who have visited or have commented with me through the blog or one of my social media sites. I love you guys, and hope you have a great week!! ~Happy Reading~
